Over the festive season many Cumbrians will look in on neighbours to wish them well. This act is particularly appreciated by many older people living on their own. During the current cold snap good neighbour activities such as this are particularly important as sometimes relatives or carers can’t make it through the snow and ice. Anything local councils can do to encourage such local activity over the next few weeks would be greatly appreciated. Residential and home care services operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
