Accessibility Advice

Changing text size and images
This section gives you instructions on how you can change the size of the text on this website to make it easier to read.

We also tell you how to turn the website images off, so you can read the text only. If you have a slow connection to the internet reading websites as text alone will reduce the time it takes to open a page.

The instructions are different for the two main types of browser (Microsoft Explorer and Netscape). There are also special instructions if you are using a Macintosh computer

Instructions for Microsoft Internet Explorer users

To change the font size:

Select Internet Options from the View OR the Tools menu depending on your browser
Click on the Accessibility button
Click the Ignore fonts now showing on web pages box so that it now shows a tick
Click OK
Click OK again to close Internet Options
Select the View option from the Menu Bar
Select the Text Size option
Choose the text size you prefer

If you want to remove the images:

Select Internet Options from the View OR the Tools menu depending on your browser
Select the Advanced tab at the top right hand corner of the box
Scroll down to the Multimedia heading
Untick the box next to Show Pictures
Click on the Apply button and then click on the OK button

Instructions for Netscape Navigator4+ users

To change your browser settings:

Select Edit from the Menu Bar
Select Preferences. You now have the option to make various changes
Select Appearance
Select Font. You can alter the Variable and Fixed width Font to your preferred option

If you want to remove the images:

Select the Edit option from the Menu Bar
Select the Preferences option
Select Text, choose your preferred colour and click on the OK button
Select the Advanced option
Untick the box next to Automatically load Images and Click OK

Information Collection and Use
Grange-over-Sands Town Council is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. In order to use some parts of this website, a user must first complete a registration form. During registration a user is required to give their contact information (such as name and email address). This information is used to contact the user about the services on our site for which they have expressed interest. Choice/Opt-out
Where applicable our users are given the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for the information. For example, our order form has an ‘opt-out’ mechanism so users who buy a product from us, but don’t want any marketing material, can keep their email address off of our lists.
